Ethics (noun, plural) refers to the moral principles that direct an individual's conduct or the performance of a task. It also encompasses a discipline centered on these moral standards. Lawyers adhere to a Code of Ethics, healthcare providers follow their own Code of Ethics, and companies uphold a Code of Ethics. Therefore, it can be said that ALL OF HUMANITY has a Code of Ethics as well.

The 10 Commandments were thrillingly revealed to the Jewish people at Mount Sinai, featuring 7 Universal Commandments along with additional laws that enrich Jewish life. While non-Jews aren't obligated to follow all 10, these commandments are cherished and celebrated by many!

By adhering to these simple yet impactful guidelines, they can radiate as a beacon of light in the world, with just 7 commandments to uphold. What Are the Seven Universal Biblical Commandments?

 

The Seven Commandments Given by God in the Bible for Humanity. Where given to Moses and the Jewish people in the Torah to redeem all humanity. At this unique and single revelation - The Creator stated that there would be no other revelation and gave the strict prohibition of creating any ulterior religion or man-made laws proclaiming they come from Him - on mount Sinai in front of 3 million Jews for eternity

 

1. You Shall Believe and Trust the One True G-d, The G-d of Israel I Exodus 20:3-4.


     I will never worship any idol or follow any false man-made philosophies or ideologies.

2. You Shall Honor G-d, the G-d of Israel and Praise Him I Leviticus 24:15.


     I will not blaspheme, disrespect or swear falsely in the Holy Name.

 

3. You Shall Honor the Sanctity of Human Life I Genesis 9:6.


     I will not injure, murder, embarrass in public or act with cruelty towards any person.

 

4. You Shall Honor Your Family I Genesis 2:24.


     I will not commit adultery or any sexual transgression and pursue a life of Marriage & Children.

 

5. You Shall Honor the Property of Your Fellow I Genesis 2:17.


     I will not steal, induce into error, make fake measures, or kidnap any person.

 

6. You Shall Respect the Life of All Living Creatures and Nature I Genesis 9:4.


     I will not be cruel to animals or eat flesh severed from a still-living animal.

 

7. You Shall Honor My Commandments, Pursue Justice and Your Country’s Laws I Genesis 9:6.


     I will contribute to reinforce correctness of the legal system and the administration of justice.

 

If you keep these Seven Commandments and are careful to observe them, you are truly a righteous and pious individual - a true observant – Chassid (Pious) Umot HaOlam (from among the nations) and you merit an eternal portion in the future World to Come.
